When is GTA 6 coming to PC? No date yet.

Rockstar's announcement lists two platforms, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and nothing else. It hasn't said the word PC about GTA 6 at all, and there is no PC listing on Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Store.

Take-Two, Rockstar's parent, has come closest. Its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has said console players are the core audience for a launch like this, and told investors that “the PC is becoming more and more important to our company over time”. That is a reason to expect a PC version, not a date for one.

The one concrete claim is a report. On 13 October 2026 GamesBeat wrote that the PC version is planned for the first three months of 2027, citing four unnamed sources. Rockstar didn't comment, and nothing since has confirmed or denied it.

The report is right: PC in the first three months of 2027, two to four months after console. That would be the fastest Rockstar PC version since Max Payne 3 in 2012, which followed console by 2 weeks.

Red Dead Redemption 2's pace: 12 months, so Nov 2027. That version was announced a month before it came out, with the PC requirements at the same time.

GTA V's pace: 19 months, so Jun 2028. GTA V's PC version was announced about a year after console and then delayed twice.

We don't have a prediction. When Rockstar announces a date, the top of this page will say so.

Nothing is announced. The two precedents point different ways: GTA V's PC version launched on Steam on day one, while Red Dead Redemption 2's launched on the Rockstar Games Launcher and the Epic Games Store first and reached Steam a month later. A Steam page for GTA 6 would be the first public sign of a PC version.

This is why the PC date matters more to roleplayers than to anyone else. GTA RP servers aren't a mode of the game: they run on FiveM, a mod that replaces GTA V's online part with a community's own server, scripts and rules. Consoles don't allow that. So a GTA 6 RP server needs two things in order: a PC version, then a way to run mods on it.

In 2015 FiveM was an outside project that Rockstar tried to shut down. Since August 2023 Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, has been part of Rockstar Games, and in September 2026 Rockstar opened a closed beta of nopixel V, an official roleplay city on GTA V, with NoPixel. Rockstar now owns the roleplay platform and works with the biggest roleplay community. None of that has been promised for GTA 6, but it is a different starting point. If you want the story, the console version is the only one with a date. If what you want is roleplay, no console copy gets you there: servers need the PC version, which has no date, and then mod support, which has no announcement. Many PC players bought GTA V twice, once on console in 2013 and again on PC in 2015. Rockstar is counting on some of that again.

Meanwhile GTA V roleplay is bigger than ever, and the communities running the biggest cities today are the ones most likely to open GTA 6 servers first. Find a GTA V RP server or see the communities already planning for GTA 6.
